Chris

It is a treat for me, Crow. This combination of liking what I want to show and tell and still being helpful giving me good advice, so I can continously learn, is a true gift.

I hope it's OK with you, Annemette... one thing I do A LOT with my own images is pay enormous attention to small details... I think it's SO IMPORTANT. Little things can make the difference between a photograph being OK and being brilliant.

See, comments like this one are so great for me to receive making me pay more attention to what I upload. Sometimes I get carried away being enthusiastic and forgetting the details that are important for the entire photograph. I really cannot thank you enough for your effort to help me be alert, Crow.

This is really great, Annemette... if I were you I would have cloned out those blown out highlights in the clouds and that little black stalk in the bottom right... if you did that this would be a 7+++ for me.

Thanks dear friend. Yes, it can be hard to handle such difficult existential questions that also puzzles adults and make us grief from time to time. I try to manage as good as I can though with a combination of logic and angelic talk*LOL* XX

Wonderful image. A very captivating picture with the beautiful little philosopher. The colors are stunning and her blond curly hair touching the clouds makes her even more looking like an angel. It must be difficult for you to handle her question and come up with the right answer. But I am sure with your sensitivity and sensibility you will do more than fine. Warm hugs to you and the little angel.

Yes indeed we all ask these questions especially as adults. For a child death may be appear more simple but also more frigthening when being so small, 3-4-5 years of age. My mother says that she told me and my brother when we´re children that she´s never going to die, and that made us happy. I still believe that...;-) Just kidding. Sometimes it can be good to tell such a lie to a small child that will be older and more capable when finding out the truth later on in life. My daughter just didn´t want to settle with that answer two years ago even comparing with others dying, digging further. Let´s just hope that we´ll be happily surprised when we die, eh?:-) Thanks for commenting in such an interesting way, Tim.

Dear Shirley Thank you for your great words that shows your warmth and empathy. I wish I had your strong faith. I hope to be positively surprised when I die but I don´t have the faith to make me confident and happy within these matters. I just hope that I can bring some comfort to Anna Sophie. Death puzzles and frightens most of us, so for such a small child it must be unbearable. Thanks for your comment.

My dear, your daughter is brilliant, as is her mother. It is natural that she has many questions. I know you don't believe this, but I know the answers are in the Bible. It is God's Truth, and the manual for Life.
A beautiful photo, dear Annemette.:)

I remember learning from my mother that i would have to die sometime in the future and that no one lived forever. I cried a lot and asked frustrating questions of her as a result. Haha what a pain in the ass i was about it. She is not religious so it was tougher even more so.....I think i am still asking the same questions...ahhh...the life's quest, with a unique answer for all and not, at the same time. Let me know if you have the Arc of the Covenant and the answers to my quest! P.S. the composition of this shot drew me in for a closer look. It is strong and yet has that quality of wonder.

what intrigued me in this photo was first the about part of your daughter's background, which gave me an idea, and then also the perspective that you shot her!! So, yes, sometime it is needed to have a few words just to set thoughts onto a 'right direction' (if there is such a thing)! Now, i think you succeeded in conveying that to me and when i look at the picture i see that. Project Big and Little! hmmm!? i believe it fits there for two reasons, beacause that old wise man entrapped in this little body and secondy the endless enormous sky and your cute little daughter.
many regards to you blue eyed, V.
PS you crop this pic i crop you! LOL

Yes, and it also shows that there is always a downside to what we consider good in life. We discovered very early on that she´s more bright than normal which was interesting, but it also means that this little soul deals too much with heavy issues too early in life. Thanks for your words of advice, Urs. I think you´re right about cropping the photo bringing Anna Sophie in a more upwards line to the clouds/"heaven". Thanks for your observant comment:-)

Yes, honesty is of course the best way to deal with her drilling questions. Still it´s hard to avoid trying to comfort her, and then I end up with all these abstract questions where she finds a loose end somewhere. It´s not good for such a small child to think so much, that is to carry such a heavy burden. Thanks Paul.

Yes, indeed. Innocent questions can be more probing than you'd ever expect. Just be honest with her. "I don't know, but I believe that..." is always a good way to qualify an answer.

A very emotional picture, becoming even more emotional because of your description. It is amazing there are some children who are most attracted by this question, others seem not to be at all. As you say your daughter is an abstract thinker I think it is even harder for you to "teach" her that there is no final answer, and if there is one, then to be found in oneself ... :)
To make your impressive picture even more expressive, I think I would have cropped it on the top just over the big, white cloud, and maybe at its left side a little bit, as well. Maybe it would be worth an other trial to cut it left and right, and leave the height ...
However: Great work! 7/7! Best wishes, Urs
