In fact this summer was an exceptionally hot summer for Iceland. There were regions where there was no rain at all during 6 weeks. This is really very extraordinary, as normally it rains there at least one time a day ... :) Such a dry period never has been measured before.
Icland has relatively moderate temperatures, as it's position profits from the Golf-Stream. In summer time temperatures up to 25°C can easily be reached. Wind, sun, rain often change witin minutes almost every day. The winters there are quite moderate in comparison to those we have in Switzerland. Average temparature in January is about 4°C.
