That's an excellent macro, Dave! I thought at first that some more DoF would make it stronger, but no! It would affect negatively the strength of focus on the very main subject! So, not only was the timing very good, but also the exposure/settings! Even the darker colors around the head of the frog do enhance the general look. And that's why I also think that no polarisation filter was needed here.
