Well, it would be surely nice to go for a more selective focus, if I only could. At that great distance there is not much of a chance for me to get that right. The Soligor at its whoopy 300mm converts the world to a rather flat thing, and its widest aperture is only f/5. So I had to go the other way around though I wished I could have also a good shot the way you suggest. Still it was good lack that the controus of the towers were strong enough in order for them to be well enough distinguishable from the background.

A busy background for sure Nick. But this still seems to work quite well. As you say, a bit of a postcard style that wants to show off the whole area rather than concentrate on one subject. Another image that would also work well from this exact spot would be to set the DOF for an out of focus background to the churches. The colours of the out of focus background would look great. Andre
