Thanks, Don. I can't see to focus in the dark either. Here's a little tip for close-in work. I set the camera to auto focus, turn on the flash and also illuminate it with a flash light. I let the camera focus and then turn off the auto focus and flash and commence shooting.
Most of the time it works, though sometimes not. I have begun using a "two out of three" rule with the auto focus at night just because it is very frustrating to find out later that every shot in that position was out of focus.
I also usually check the first shot after the manual focus is set. But, a 2 inch screen will lie to you, even if you zoom up the photo.

nice image once again. I'm impressed you have everything in great focus....I have a very difficult time focusing on anything at night and usually defalut to an f/22 or f/30 and lenghten the time....also notice you have some star blur due to the time exposure.
this is all good work!

Thanks Dave for taking the heat off me and directing it to yourself... ;-) I've not seen that side of you on here... just the clever, creative, and sometimes very humorous side of you! Thank you again, my dear self-sacrificing hero!!

Rats. Here I was thinking for the first time in my life, I was being called provocative. LOL.
Actually, it is my middle name. I have been accused many times of provoking people, usually into arguments... which is in reality "provocative".
Thanks, Brigitte.

Hey wait.... a little slip up there... I think I meant to use another word since "provocative" infers to something a bit more sexual.... I actually meant it in a non-sexual way! lol.... am not into space aliens here or anything like that. Just wanted to make that clear to anyone reading this! By the time the thought hit my mind I had already hit the "add comment" button.... I just meant to say that your image provokes the imagination. Ok, I'll go hide in embarassment now! lol

Hi Dave... guess what? I got no complaints about this one!! In fact, it is one of my favorites. The colors are great, perfect exposure. I really like the white light on ths side of the building which clearly illuminates all the wonderful details in those very interesting brick pieces that make up the building. I love the dreamy sky with the stars that show movement (amazing just how much noticable movement there is in a mere 4 minutes!) And, I love seeing the hint of detail in the surrounding landscape! It is a very "out of this world" kind of shot... almost expect to see nomads from space appear in the scene at any moment! Great work, Dave... wonderful, wonderful, wonderful... very provocative! 7++++++++++ Kindest regards, Brigitte

Thanks, Bernardo. That is so true about watching your step. When you are walking around without a flashlight because the camera will pick it up, there are many things to trip on.
Not so bad on a full moon night but after you've been blinded by the flash going off and then try and move to the next position, you're totally blind.
That is one reason locations are hard to find for these shoots. Many places are just too dangerous to try and navigate in the dark. Uneven ground, litter or brush make some places impossible for a night shoot.

Biljana... M&M is a candy, surely you've heard of them? Their "claim to fame" is that they "melt in your mouth, not in your hand".
I figured M&Ms were known worldwide.

Dave,
What a clever idea; I dig the purple and fushia against the darl muted green and dark muted blue skies. I think I see stars in the sky too. I am impressed !!
