Wow, this is marvelous! It is amazing that you found the nest. I have watched loons on the lake, but have never had the good fortune to see a scene like this. It's good you had your camera, but then, I imagine your camera is pretty much like an extension of your arm. This is a magazine shot. Not many have one like this. Super. MAry
This was such a thrill to see. I was with a friend at a lodge where we usually go kayaking. This day, however, we rented a motor boat and went exploring for places to visit with the kayak. We saw 2 loons hanging around a small island and cruised by slowly to have a look. We cut the motor and drifted by. To our surprise, she swam over to the nest and got back on it.
