About A tree surrounded by a metal grate in the park. The design of the protective plate around the tree caught my eye.

Rachel -- Thanks so much for the comments. I like Avi's crop too but it just wasn't the way I felt best about the composition. I am an "off center" kind of guy. :) :)

...even putting trees in cages these days! haha, just kidding, good eye... this texture IS really cool, nice work capturing it in that beautiful light! :) By the way, I like the cropping by Avi as well!

Doyle -- Thanks for your comments. When I was in the park this past weekend I was thinking of our friend, Gene Yuss Chassie. I ran across a "bear" holding two bears and GYC came to mind as one who would appreciate the MADD Bear working at the event I was attending. I have attached a photo of Maddie; show it to the "G" Man and give the little fellow my regards.

Would be good for Concentricity too! Good find! NO CC critique on this one, I like it as is!

Thanks, AJ. I had to be there before 6 AM as my wife and I were volunteers for a charity 5K walk. We had to get up at 4 AM on Saturday to pull that off. Yuck!!!!! But the light was nice.
I actually had second thoughts about this one because of the concentricity angle. :) :)

I must try some of this early morning stuff - but the only time I seem to catch any is when I have to get to the airport. Otherwise, it's long gone by the time I surface. Here's another reminder of the quality of light at this time of day. Nicely concentric (oh no, we've finished that one...)

Wouter -- Thanks for the suggestion; as you might of guessed that was the third version of the three I made up before I posted this one. It was my second choice and Avi's approach was the one I liked the least. Thanks for taking the time to make a good and constructive comment.

Well seen, i like the symmetry, the strong lines and the blue/orange contrast. In contrast with Avi's suggestion, mine would be to crop less, showing a little bit more of the tree and use a square format.

Frankly, that's all what matters - what you FEEL. I know it very well :)

cheers !

Thanks for the suggestion, Avi. I had three versions, one of which was cropped almost like your suggestion. When I viewed them side-by-side I went for the off-center crop but it was only a "feeling" as to my picking that version.

This is a BRILIIANT perspective, Jan. Just a very small suggestion, I tried a crop that would render the image an approximate semi-circle. Let me know how you feel.

cheers !

I Love the early morning light Jan.... It's the best IMO .... soft and still bright. Anyway the protective plate around the tree also caught my eye but the flourecent colored paint was equally the reason... Nice shot and nice crop !!

All the Best,
Michele~
