Hi Shirley, these photo's were took at an annual horse fair in a little village called Appleby, Cumbria. Whilst it's hard enough to capture the horse at full speed, the rider and trap are also bobbing up and down whilst speeding along with the gait of the animal, which is quite fast. So trying to get them both in focus while trying to show the sense of speed is virtully impossible. If I use a fast shutter speed it freezes every thing so the illusion of speed is lost. I did use different shutter speeds but I deleted a lot of useless photo's I can tell you. I'll try harder next time, just for you though, ha ha ha.
