A beautiful little woodpecker, these guys are about the same size as a Hairy. You can just see the yellow on his belly in this shot. BTW, the Sibley Guide is the book I use most to ID birds. I remember I was going to remind you of the name.
So that's a yellow-bellied sapsucker. I did not know they were a woodpecker. Great shot, super sharp, excellent light, brilliant red colour. All the best, Joe
