The ultimate basilica designed by the extraordinary Antonio Gaudi. Pictures can't begin to do this building justice. It was originally designed in the late 1800s and has been under construction pretty much continuously ever since. Every time a piece of it gets done another piece is started, and usually with a different architectural style. I'm really not kidding when I say you can walk 20 feet around the building and it will look like a different building from the new point of view. I'm sure every time you visit it, it will look different.
I admire your take on this church. It is such a difficult building to photograph because it is always under construction. I was there back in the 70's and it looked pretty much the same. It seems as though they move the scaffolding around a bit, but it is always somewhere. I wonder what it would look like with out all the visual distractions. Maybe my grandchildren will find out.
I know what you mean. Before my children were born walking it was the only truly wondrous experience in my life. I have never been closer to genius. I will go back, but will the building really have got closer to completion in twenty years. :) Still it took longer in the middle ages didn't it.
