Thanks a lot Michele...yea, at all the places orchids has different types, unique, only at these places, so at my place too...and I am very thank about a friend of mine that knows how to find these tiny 'guys' with papigions :-) ...(at the middle of H shape...)

Very strange looking orchids in Greece John-- this one looks like it's wearing a bow tie, and tuxedo.... Nice shot , good detail and something I have NEVER seen before :)) 7/7

Thanks dear Srna, think that simple we cannot shot even the 10% into our life, they are more than 35000 types of it all over the world and each place has its special types! Excellent flowers and believe me, difficult to se as they are very small the most of them... I fould these because of a friend that knows the area...I really could not find even one!!!

Thanks A LOT for the superb comment Tony, hehe...yea I cut it strongly here, I have also a much more wide shot that I present it all....on these photos (all) I really make that mistake trying to find how strong can be a composition between Sigma 150mm macro and 2X converter and many times I go faaaar to close to the object I want to shot! :-D
Creta island (as the most places in the world) have also many types we can find only at that place, also you can find some at Rhodos island.
I don't know about orchids...not at all, a friend of mine was with me and saw these to me...not many, the most of them was simple out of there time!

I like the diagonal composition within the horizontal frame.It's a pity the bit at the top is slightly out of focus but I know all about DOF problems when shooting Orchids myself!I haven't seen this particular type of Ophrys here but, as you can see in my portfolio, local Andaluz Orchids are one of my favourite wild flowers.I look frward to seeing more Greek wild flowers and comparing!
