Hi Art (et al),
This goose was in the process of defending his woman from the competition. They're nesting right now and display aggression towards other geese. This of course is accompanied by a loud chorus of honking and snorting, which is why his mouth is open and his tongue is sticking out. This behaviour was obvious enough to allow me to set up in the best light and adjust camera settings for the inevitable charge.
It was fun to watch.
