Hi dear Claudia,
Very nice portrait that tells a story. Good balance between the man working and the house on the hill. I like your greyscale.
This summer I visit Italy for the first time - environment of Florence - for 3 weeks, so than I shall find out how difficult it is to find a good compromise between direct sunlight and shade.
If the man is your main subject, he could use a little more light at his face. Maybe a slightly different POV could place him a little bit out of the center of the image (3th rule). Just minor details. Nevertheless I really like this view a lot. Compliments !

I guess the modern world isn't entirely modern everywhere. A very nice photo, Claudia. A very nice composition with the farmer well-placed so that we can see his entire immediate world.
