Well Jessie that was a few weeks ago and this winter is a wierd one for everyone--- It's actually turned cold again and raining the last 2 days soo no more cherry blossoms left either :(

Aha!! The Big aperature made the cotton candy poofy trees /painting effect... Now this makes sence... Maybe f/11 might have been a better choice- I know hard to say but try then look in the view-finder , and try another- got it !!! Thank YOU Robbie and just in the nick of time for Salem trip for more Cherry blossoms :)))

The painting look is from a big aperture like the f4.5 you used.It gives less definition so a soft focus effect.The f4.5 is too big unless you want a selective focus which wasn`t what you wanted.
For a typical landscape shot shot more than one image using various f stop and shooting positions and then look thru in Nikon Browser for the best one.

Thank YOU my dear sweet Srna.... I am hoping to go over to Salem either tomorrow after work or Sat. after work because the cherry blossoms are blooming on my friends street now ! They are a deeper pink , and line both sides of the street so it would be a wonderful time to take another image of this as I like to every year when the time is right!!

Oh Wow! Onie--- Geez... I love when you critique my work like desert :)) Of course now I must have creamy coconut ice---CREAM YmYmmm !!! LOL !! I know what you mean about the cherry blossoms tho- they are soo soft and have that way about them. These especially since they are more white than pink-- but have that pink hue to them--- Gotta get some ice cream now :)))

I agree... the Cherry Blosooms are definitely a special sight... they are so cool when an entire block is blooming- I live about 1 hr. west of Salem where these are very popular so it's a nice drive with great rewards :)

You would love this park -- just filled with Cherry Tree's ... It is a lovely site-- You don't even mind the buildings, and cars, when you are there because they line the streets and last only for a short period of time.. fortunately it's scattered all thru the city of Salem , and staggered in their time to bloom :)

Ooooh, I can“t believe the beauty of these trees!!! The remind me of the fairytale with the Brothers Lionheart when they die and come to Nangijala and walk among blooming appletrees. Such beauty is rare to be found. Great shot, Michele! I only wish there wasn“t any cars and building in the photos, but I guess that was hard to avoid!

I think you're right Michele. The soft atmosphere created by the blooms, as well as the soft focus on the little people in the background, is why this post seems to my eye to be like a painting.
