Yeah, Sonny.
This is the (now fenced off) abandoned cement factory at Wurzbach parkway by Thousand Oaks.

Oh, and two other points:

This time of year, 4pm is entering 'Golden Hour' when you DO want to shoot. When you want to avoid outdoor shooting is mid-day when the sun is high overhead. The first hour of sunlight (which I'll be shooting tomorrow) and the last hour of sunlight (which I'll also be shooting...with a completely different model) are considered the best.

This wasn't shot with my alien Bees, since I don't yet have a batter pack, and the nearest outlet is a half-mile away, so I used my 580EX Speedlight with a diffuser on it instead. She was standing in full shade so she needed some fill light to balance, as the sun had already set on us, and was about to set on the stacks behind her.

Thanks, Wayne.
Well, you USED to be able to get into the factory, until the city very recently put up a bloody barbed wire fence surrounding the entire decaying mess. What a SHAME!

Yeah, this is the old cement plant at Wurzbach and Thousand Oaks, you're correct.

Love the low perspective and the powerful stance.

Excellent lighting!
Found out the other day that 4pm this time of year is horrible for lighting! Way too drastic shadows and highlights. Here you may have been running out of light but I think it worked out very well. Did you use you alien beez for fill?

This looks like thousand oaks and 35. I took a few images from the bridge there a long time ago but I didn't yet have the experience to make any of them very good. Your towers should be just to the left of this image.
I have always wanted to go to that factory to take some shots but I am not sure if I can get in there.

Great shot buddy and best wishes!
Wayne

good lighting and model, but to me the tower right next to her head is a little distracting.

Sounds good, we want to revisit the Riverwalk sometime (not the Alamo!!)...it was raining pretty hard the one day we were there!
Can't say the countryside is very picturesque...but we are near our granddaughter, and that's really been great! :)

You gotta get them when you can! Not sure if this would work but if you carefully selected the offending stack you might be able to replace it with a cloned patch of blue sky. My PS skills are weak so I do not know how much trouble this would be.

Yeah, I struggled with the framing while I was shooting this, and while I didn't want the large silo behind her, I DID want the 3 chimneys next to her as a counterpoint. We were quickly losing light, so I just grabbed a few shots and we wrapped.

Paul -- I like the pose and the overall shot but the large stack behind the model detracts.
--Best regards, Jan

very beautiful perspective, colors and beautiful model...only one chimney(flue) directly behind the model disturbs me a little bit!
well done, paul!
