About Now I know this is not the best spider pic around by a long shot... ~~GRIN~~... I stood for a loooooooooong time waiting for said spider to show more than a little leg... lol... anyway, a bug flew into the web, said spider made a dash ... ... and my batteries closed down...:( so, I came back and waited... NUP!!! Lunch was an inside affair... Macro, levels, hue/sat, history brush, sharp and crop... ~~GRIN~~

You have it right Gabriela...:) your insight is truly appreciated...:)

The leaf does create a tower, it is still out there all cosy... We had rain o'nite, so thought of checking on this little spider and it's home...:)))

Thanking you kindly Gabriela, always appreciated...:)

We don't need to see the spider Onie, your composition makes sure there is so much more of interest to explore in this fabulous shot.
I agree with Jesus that it deserves an award... :)

But....it's NOT the spider which is important here! It's the SUGGESTION of the spider and its actions! The location is superbly captured in such details and the spider's "mansion" looking like a tower. Very special this shot, a rare type of composition!
Regards,
Gabriela

Hi nessa...:) Did a hue/sat and then history brushed the bug and brighter part of leaf to give more oomph... Pleased you like nessa...:)))...

Lighting courtesy of late afternoon summer pre storm, and black core-board slipped carefully in behind as branches caused focus issues...:)

Thanks heaps nessa, appreciated...:)

~~GRIN~~ Bek... Eat you!!! Unless it had a blade in one hand and a steel in the other I seriously doubt that... Bit by bit starting at the knee caps... :))) How high did you say it was jumping LOL...

Glad you like this, but am going to get a full body shot if it kills me... Might just set up camp beside the bottle brush and wait...

The frame was a *it needs something* moment... and very glad you haven't written me off the *relo* list beacause of it...LOL

Thanks kiddo...:)

~~GRIN~~ Sandra... Must say, spiders I don't have a problem with, and am almost on first name basis with this one... LOL...

The leaf is very sculptural, liked the way it was suspended in the *trap*... background black core-board... Tried hard not to disturb the web when putting it behind... oopsed and the spider went further up into safety... so knew it was a *just take what you can get*...:)

Thanks heaps Sandra, always appreciated...:)))

~~GRIN~~ Annemette...:) Glad you enjoyed this... That bug didn't stand a chance, neither did I LOL... Just too quick... The *cloth* is a leaf, but it does have the texture of cloth doesn't it...:)

Had to put the black core-board behind as the lens kept grabbing the branches behind...:)

Thanks heaps as always...:)

Hiya Mumsy, this is not as big as the bad a** wolf spider that I clobbered on the lounge floor last night!! It was gonna eat me...I swear!
Love the way the web stands out against the dark bg, and the texture of the curled leaf. Also, just the spider's legs poking out as he prepares to pounce. Just great.
Very sorry to ask....but what's with the frame colour?!!! Am definately not a fan and think that no frame or simple white frame would be much better. Just my opinion tho', still love ya' :^)
hugs, Bexta xxx

I really like it...crop and comp...while the spider and his lunch aren't too clear, I don;t think that's an issue as it's not necessarily the point of interest..it's a nice "discovery" to make when you're looking at the web and the leaf...I like it with the dark background...well spotted, well captured (ahem). ;)

aww, doesnt that just make you mad, lol...fancy taking his lunch inside...how rude could he be :) A wonderful capture none the less, and it has some great qualities about it. Nice comp and detail to start with, and very interesting.

This is absolutely excellent, Onie. I mean it! The dark background and the spider and bug in a lethal ambrace and this piece of cloth(?) making it extra catchy to look at. Good job!
Best wishes
