Hi Joe, I've been reading about this and it's something I'd really like to do. You can do it in CS2 apparently, it has that function. It's perfect when you have strong light and shade, it brings up the best exposure in all areas. I'll be sure to look further into this because I find the images very appealing.

Hi Ina, I think what you are interested in is called HDR High Dynamic Range images. I've seen some very impressive examples. I tried it a couple of times using Photomatix Basic, the free HDR program but my result were very poor. I suspect you need to invest in the full program to get acceptable results. http://www.hdrsoft.com/ I would be interested in hearing how you make out.
All the best, Joe

Thanks for the links and explanation, Joe! I haven't done much macro lately, but it sounds good for landscape as well. I'm interested in trying high definition photography, where you combine several exposures (from underexposed to normal exposure to overexposed) to get perfect lighting and definition on all areas, but it requires always a tripod and a fixed subject - I haven't tried it yet, but it's something I'd like to do :) Best regards, Ina

Hi Ina, Thanks for the comments. The program CombineZ5 http://www.hadleyweb.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ will combine a number if images with different parts of the image in focus into one image with all the sharp focus areas. Very good for macro photography where you have to deal with very shallow dof. Here's a tutorial on how to use it. http://www.flickr.com/groups/macroviewers/discuss/163367/
Have a great day, Joe

Beautiful lighting and clarity/ contrast, Joe! What do you mean by stacked images? It sounds like a very interesting process, with great results, excellent handling of whites and off-whites :) Ina
