Just looked at the Nikon website for this lens: weight 3.2 lbs! Guess that's why it comes with a tripod collar... Then I saw the price - does it come with a free truck to drive it around?!

I'm struggling with the lens - every one said how wonderful it is - but it's so big and heavy I can't hold still!
Even though it has VR, and even when it's on a fast shutter - only about one in thirty are coming out sharp - I'm really gutted! I think I'll have to get down to that gym and build up some muscles :(

Nicely detailed against the background. I wonder if the focus was centred just a little low - the branch seems slightly sharper than the feathers around the eye.
