Thanks for the clarification Doyle. I am really "lichen" both your critiques and your humor (even if it is kinda "sappy"). At first I was a bit intimidated, but I'm finding that your "bark" is worse than your bite. I think your comments are helpful to getting me to "branch" out a bit more, while keeping my work "rooted" in good technique.

It doesn't really beg the question Maryanne . . . Using a pun to communicate a message doesn't require me to send a message contrary to what was intended. In other words . . . If I wished to enjoy the pun I could also have mentioned that "I'm not really 'lichen' this because . . . " and still got both my pun and my point in there!
I believe I also mentioned that I thought it had good depth and conveyance of texture . . . usually considered a good thing. ;)

Doyle, this does beg the question of whether you really liked it or just couldn't resist the pun. Well, it's not the worst pun I've ever heard. Thanks for your always helpful and constructive feedback.
