Yep! No omelette this time! I guess the eggs are already extremely boiled up! ;-)
Nick
P.S.: But perhaps some chopped egg sandwich or something? ;-)

Nick-- Now that I see how my suggested changes look, I think it did not help enough to overcome the overwhelming color and other pictorial elements. I believe this is a case where you can't make an omelette out of the eggs. --Best to you, Jan

Hi Andre!
And thank you very much for the detailed comment and ideas again!
Indeed, I seemed to be too influenced from rhythm and blues - oops, I meant of course rhythm and reds!! ;-)
I do like the "wall of color" methid, but here I have my problems with it. It must be a combination of reasons that you all guys were so kind to mention. So I now what to do next time.
Thanks a lot again,
Nick
P.S.: Another point of view would be to refer to Rush again:
I see red It hurts my lens I guess it must be some more of that fence!
(With all apologies to Rush :-D)

Thank you very much for the detailed comment and ideas, Peter! I really have to try out your suggestions and gradually underexpose it taking also some green in the photo.
Best wishes,
Nick

Hi Jan!
I had yesterday some strange men in black here, with some even stranger sign on their ties - "UF" or something - and they removed all the red pixels from my screen, and they told me, if I use so much red again, they'll come again and convert me to monochrome! ;-)
Thank you very much for the idea! So let's crop again! Do you mean something like the attached photo?
I think even on the cropped one too much is really lost because of the reasons you already talked about. So indeed less red and more focus could have help here.
Thanks again and best wishes,
Nick

Hi Nick, I had not read your about for this image until after I wrote my comment on the image before this with the fence, house and pathway enhancing the background. I think the same thing that I wrote in that comment sort of counts as a suggestion for this image. As Jan kids in a comment above. You have over-dosed on red :) That could be a part of what bothers you about the image. I think a composition that includes something else in the foreground or back ground (even blurred) is more interesting than the solid wall of colour that you have provided here. I'm sure there will be a certain percentage of people who prefer this sort of "wall of colour" image, but you can't please everyone. If you don't feel quite comfortable with this one, you are right to look for an option that pleases you. Andre

Just as a suggestion (and I'm no expert)I agree that another angle (like some of the others in this series which work better) showing some contrasting green or other elements would have worked better. This is a case where closing the lens down a few stops and underexposing the shot would help the exposure and DOF. Next time try several shots at the same shutter speed and different F stops below what the meter tells you.

Nick-- first of all, you have used up your allowed amount of red color for the next six weeks. (Just kidding). I agree that this one is "off" composition-wise. For no solid reason other than how I feel about it, I would have dropped the left side dark green twig about 20% and a bit to the right about 10%. But no matter how you crop, too much is "lost" in the sea of red and the out-of-focus elements do not seem to add much. --Best to you, Jan
