Hi Doyle, Yes, an accent point would be good and there is a reed in the upper left, but it may not be obvious. I really appreciate you taking the time to "look" at the image.
Hi Maryanne! Yes, that is so correct; when there is constructive input from other artists it can open your eyes to many new possibilities. Thanks for your always nice comments!
Another interesting "reflections" shot. You got quite a variety with this series. I read Doyle's comment below and, although I like the image as it is, it's great when a "critiquer" has interesting and constructive ideas to share, ya know?
Alan: Nice image and creative idea. Looks like it'd make a heckuva jigsaw puzzle. Still, I would consider adding an accent to ground the image. For example, a leaf floating in the water or a reed breaking the surface . . . even a tack-sharp silhouette of some plant . . . anything to help ground the image. Ochre, umber, and variations of yellow and browns (sorry, I'm an oil painter too) all seem to proliferate the shot and I can't help but think you'd have a stronger, more dynamic shot if you could accent them by pulling the free flow of the composition down to a specific focal point. Something to consider. :)
