Thanks Doyle, and yes you hit the nail on the head... and if you would understand Dutch... that's just what I told Riny. For he suggested underexposing two stops, but then the eye would've disappeared. Sometimes the sun is your friend, but more often he's your enemy... Have a great day PW.

Well composed and with a good DOF Petal. I'm not gonna ask how it is that you knew this was a Kookaburra! LoL!
There are some serious challenges with this shot. Overexposure (slight)along the head and above the wing . . . balanced against the seriously dark areas along the eye . . . seem to have been relatively well handled. Great deal of range to cover . . . but you managed to keep the detail in the dark areas without too much of a trade-off in the bright areas. Nice work! Oh yeah, cute bird too! :)

Ha die Riny...
Het is een grote (de grootste) ijsvogel. En ja de bovenkant van zijn kopje is te, maar met onderbelichten was de zijkant weer helemaal zwart geworden... soms is de zon je vriend, maar vaker je vijand... ;-DD

Staat er netjes op Petal,zo te zien is het specht..je had -2 stops moeten nemen om het feit dat zijn koppie nu overbelicht is..fijne avond,riny
