About The Red Knobbed Coot or Fulica Cristata, in Afrikaans it is called a "Bleshoender" directly translated Bald Chicken refering to the the bald white forehead. This one was breeding and charged me twice. Quite an experience.

Shot was taken this past Sunday at the Bloemfontein Botanical Gardens.Photo uncropped, just a little contrast and saturation tuning done in PS. ISO 200 Shutterspeed 1/1300sec.
