Hi Allan - I am not familiar with the American flora at all but based on the colour and shape of the flowers, this plant seems te be related to the Plumbago genus we find in South Africa. (I might be totally wrong - confirm in a local flower guide if possible). Lovely colour, thanks for sharing.
