Every time the grandaughter comes over you get out the camera, I know as I have four grandsons. Wonderful picture and she will treasure this in coming years along with her parents. Again beautiful skin tones. Don

Mavis,
The main is a 60" umbrella. The effect from the white umbrella is much the same as a softbox according to those who know. The S2 was purchased for doing portraits and some commercial work and perhaps a wedding now and then. I'm currently getting together the needed things to accomplish this and plan to do such work on a part-time basis and then go from there.
When you consider all things the S2 isn't all that expensive for what it does and the savings on the cost of film and processing. My film gear is gather dust and will continue to do so until someone actually wants it. Might hang onto one medium format just for fun.

Lovely high key portrait Robert . By the reflection in her eyes looks as if you used a soft box?? She is a delicious child . Beautiful skin tones and such blue eyes . Do you do portrait work for a living ? If not you ought to with such an expensive camera !! :))

Thank you all for the comments. Why no smile? She's ALWAYS smiling and this is just one of those moments I just happend to catch without a smile. I'm more of a no-smile photographer. Nothing against smiles mind you but I just prefer the look of someone in thought, or how they would normally look without a camera present. Candid if you please. Yes, I have some of Kiera, my granddaughter, smiling. Many in fact. Don't worry, I'll post for you smile lovers out there. When she smiles she has an almost impish, mischievous look about her. Much like her grandmother!
See what I mean?
As for the keys, Kiera loves keys. Don't lay them down anywhere or you'll have to go hunt for them and maybe you'll get lucky, maybe you won't.

I really like the soft colors here, it fits the child so well. While it might have been nice if she was smiling, I kinda like her look here. It's a pensive moment, and has much character.

This is a lovely child photo! Excellent photo quality and lovely soft colours. Could perhaps have been even better if she looked the other side where it's more "photo space", and if she didn't hold the keys. Not that the keys distracts me or anything, it's just that if she didn't have them it would have been a timeless photo. Anyway, really great work and beautiful photo!

Such a pretty girl, why didn't you get her to smile? It would have really lifted her out nicely. Her eyes are superb, now can we please have a smile ;) Great capture.
