HI Paul, this is quite an exceptional shot. the warmth of the reflected imagery as well as the sun popping through make this a very alluring vision.

What an amazing picture (& sculpture)! My Mom is from Chicago & I told her about this. So now I will show her your pictures of it. Love the red flare too, it kind of looks like a big red moon about the city. What a great angle with the sun peering thru too. So many things I like about it!

Thanks Joel, but I'll try to avoid the Chicago or Minneapolis in January as long as possible. ;)
Thanks for your comments, man.

Paul,
this is awesome! I love the first image of this, but this is, for lack of a better term, 'out of this world'.
briliant detail in the shadows, and very god control with a shot straight into the sun.
well done!
cheers, -Joel
....you went to Chicago at the right time... try January one time. ;)

Very nicely done, Paul. I've heard of this new park in Chicago but have yet to see it. Your photo at least gives me some idea about this fabulous piece of art. I've seen other photos of it here on UF and could get no real concept on what it was in its entirety.
Enjoy Chicago, my old home town.

Thanks, Rob. I was pleased to check the forecast Saturday night, and see dewpoints were dropping, ensuring clear skies Sunday morning, since I only had an hour to shoot before getting ready to fly home. I almost neglected to catch this angle, and was walking away when I visualized it in my head, turned on my heel and went back to find the angle. SCORE!

I don't know how they clean it, Roger. It's got a bit of grime on it, but its SO large and so polished that the occasional rain would be enough to rinse it back to glory.
This is one of the largest public sculptures in America, and truly a joy for photography.
