no warranty,to save costs think I'll skip repair. Fixed it myself ,no ghost image anymore on 50mm 1.8 and lightmeter works. But no autofocus, but I have a lot of manual lenses anyway. Think I will upgrade to Nikon D80 DX 18-135 mm kit. Did some research ,with that lens I can do a lot. Better viewfinder and autofocus too. BIBI CANON....hahaha

Yes that is far too soon, If you had the camera for under a year it would be covered by warranty...

12,000 for a life of 50,000 thats too soon right? Think it costs about 200Euro. They should make those things stronger.

Wow thats a lot of frames for a camera that has a shutter life rated at 50,000, I think tha repair is not very expensive, you really are getting your moneys worth out of that body :)

My Canon 300D is going in for repair tomorrow. After 12000 shots looks like broken pin that holds 2mirrors together.Common issue with 300D apparently.

Thanks Marcus
My 50mm 1.8 II now suddenly gives me a ghost image in the viewfinder and autofocus does not work anymore.Any Idea what the problem could be? very strange. No ghost to be seen on de jpg sensor image. No problem with kitlens, but also autofocus moves forward and back but cannot find a point.

Hi Guido, very nice capture here, I like the collection of bird as they go about there business, the one in flight really adds alot to the scene, well done..
