Thank you so much Dear Shirley. I think the angle "works" better on the sketch, which is why I used it rather than sticking to the angle in the photo. I kept much of the model's expression on her face, and the clothing, as you can see. If ever I find the photo of the completed pastel version, I will post it if you wish :)

I like the sketch even better than the photo. I'll bet the original pastel was wonderful, dear Aniko!:)

Thank you Dear Shirley!
I like to tell the stories about the photos I make.
I found this unfinished sketch (I always photograph my paintings as I am still working on them...) I couldn't find the photo of the completed pastel, so this is missing the highlights etc that are always the last thing I add... I thought you might be interested to see how I don't like to exactly reproduce an image of a photograph exactly, but rather I'm inspired by some and then paint them in a diferent way using a different angle etc... I am a bit sad I can't find the photo of the finished version, but you get the idea... :) (Remember my untidy laundry and you'll understand how easily I "lose" things... lol... And I no longer have the original pastel... so this is the 3/4 finished version scanned from a photo of work in progress.)
Thank you for your interest my friend and hugs to you, Aniko :)

Thank you so much Dear Shirley!
When I looked at this image in B&W, the title is what I "heard" in my head... The colour version speaks slightly differently. I think too that because it is in B&W, she appears to be dressed in black (as in "mourning attire")... In fact, she was also wearing dark blue which has translated to black here.
I have always been rather fond of this photo and have made a pastel painting from it in colour. I like the B&W photo here more ... lol...
Warmest Wishes, Aniko:)

LOL Prunella!
Odd isn't it how we come up with a title for an image that just seems to "say something", whether it is true or otherwise. In this case, otherwise. She's a fabulous model.
Thank you so much for your kind comments, Aniko :)

He was a bum anyway. Strong and expository. Wisp of hair and focus are a bonus. Very nice!
