I am glad to hear that, Michelle! Then just keep your appetite for that food! No overweight dangers with that, which is also good for the body ;-)
Wish you all the best,
Nick

Hi again Nick.... I am also one who does enjoy the 'thinking' part...and it was a good point you made.
It was food for thought as we like to say in the US !
Best Wishes, Michele~

Hi again, Michelle!
So it was a point for thinking? Great!
The whole package, of which you speak, is of course the right thing to do, but only under the controlling instance of the mind.
In other words: Imagine some humans some dozens of thousends of years ago, having to fight against a mighty tiger. One of the humans we name Arnold Schwarzenegger and he is healthy and has muscles in tones. Hmmm, no chance against the tiger, Goodbye Arnie! ;-) The other one we name Paul Erdös, is unhealthy, has tiny muscles, but is very clever and *thinks*! A new kind of spear, some devlish trap, fire, any product of his/her mind. No chance against that human, goodbye tiger! ;-)
I hope the small story out of our prehistory made it clear.
Fast forward to our times. While the number of people jogging around is huge, the number of people that enjoy a mental run is sinking rapidly. Or when did we see a commercial for, say, a philosophy book on TV? ;-)
Best wishes and sorry for the additional intervention,
Nick

It is because the mind is not material like for example the brain or the eyes or hands are. The mind belongs to our personality just like our hands or feet do, but it is in some way the "software" that runs on the "hardware" of the body.
Of course it needs its hardware to be intact for running properly, but to a much lesser degree than the rest of our inner machinery. The greatest spirits of the last century lived all completely unhealthy - philosophers, mathematicians, whatever. This is of course not an imperative in the sense of "live unhealthy in order to get wise", but rather a small (and unshamful ;-)) anti-health-mania hint in a world that seems to care more for a well developed biceps than for well developed grey cells ;-)
Nice to see how many subjects are discussed here, and how that discussion is geeting shape out of ohotography as a branch of arts. Another result of the mind ;-)
Take care,
Nick

Hi Michele!
No, that separation a'la Holmes shouldn't be taken absolutely. It is only an exaggeration for enhancing the importance of "mind over matter". After all, even the brain is a part of the body.
Sorry to hear about that bipolarity! Wish you as much "up" as possible!
Keep well, and keep feeling good!
Nick

Hi Annemette,
I haven't been recieveing my messages lately from UF ... or just some I keep finding out... so I don't know if you sent this to me or just to Nick. I like to think that with-out both mind & body we aren't complete to make good choices judgements, or decisions. One with-out the other is only a piece of the package..... There was a time in my life I was proud I could seperate my mind from my body, or so I thought.... I think it was a mistake now and feel it was a high price to pay for a dumb thing to do. I do believe the total package is most important, altho I did cave in with Nicks remark this morning. Take Care, Michele~

But in order for the brain to function one needs to take care of the body...;-) I have always wondered about this distinction we automaticcal make between body and mind/soul. Is it a philosophical or religious tradition or is it indeed because we feel alienated and feel that we exist because we think - not because we have a body?

Hi Nick,
Well good point on the *mental health issue and perfect person to point it out too since I personally have mental inbalences ( bipolar) and yet my body is healthy as a horse. When I am on the down side I am pretty useless... so as much as I don't like to admit it You are right. Point made and taken .
Still it's not fare to seperate the body from the mind.... < couldn't help it , just had to say it )
Best Wishes, Michele~

Hmmm, Michele, just for the record and without any wish to attack the non-smokers, there exist at least one element out of the set smokers, that doesn't even think of getting any help, since the only health that really counts is... *mental* health.
Or, as good old Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once said through the mouth of Sherlock Holmes:
"I am a brain. My body is a just an attachment". ;-)
Best wishes,
Nick
P.S.: Did anybody notice how dull the X-Files would be without the mysterious smoker? ;-)

A modern game of perpective combined with low light and dark colors. Very interesting in its own way, and it can be connected to almost anything in mind - not only smoke/eat. For the time being it is simply an interesting geometric shape for me, but perhaps looking it a bit more, I'll get it.
Nicely done!
Nick

Hi Annemette,
If this image doesn't help ones who smoke to stop or try to get some help ... then I don't know what can ... this is pretty ugly to think of inside your body ! good idea , very creative.
Best Wishes, Michele~
