Wonderfully captured,very good photo marcus,but the right side of the photo(tree)is make a photo to busy and i mean is not nececery.

Thanks very much bill sorry for the late reply, to be honest these guys are so far out usually atlest 25 yards that you can shoot wide open withough any blur its only when they get in close that the app becomes an issue, this was taken right before sunset with the light directly on him thus the really high shutter speed, thanks again...

You should be proud of this photo. 1/4000? 30D did a great job. Such clarity, light and color. Maybe around sunset time. It's just great. You make it look easy.

Every time I think I've seen your best work you come up with another stunning image. The detail in both wings is unbeleveable. How do you keep the DOF from bluring out one wing or the other??
The light in this shot is awesome. I'm guessing near sunset? That is my faviorte time to shoot. I just did some deer shots near sun down yesterday.
