Dodging and burning in the digital darkroom I feel is rather easy. No, this was done in the physical dark room and many many prints were made before I was satisfied with the result. So this is a scan from the original hand printed image.

I can understand the awards, it's a real attention grabber. Is this is scanned from the print or did you do all the dodging and burning again in the digital darkroom?

Printing this image was a bit of a nightmare as I had no real control over the light at the time of the shot. There was a whole lot of dodging and burning going on in the darkroom until I finally settled on a good balance.
