I like Your way of thinking Doyle !!
You know I was just kidding ...and I think it is also a good thing to have a good vocabulary and not the standard American slang all the time.
You seem to have achieved a well balenced vocabulary to communicate with all...and this is a Gift!
I am so greateful to have the opportunity to share ideas and thoughts with both You and Marlyce.
Best wishes, Michele~

Heheheheee . . . sorry Michele . . . I'm usually better at hiding my education (trying not to sound too erudite so as to felicitate an expeditious transfer of meaningful constructive critiques in a less than supercilious manner). :)
While I think most people understand the big words that sound so 'intellectual' it doesn't help to make communication easier . . . only more accurate. I have found talking to people and with people that even those with advanced degrees could (and should) be given a hard time for sounding too stuffy!! ;) So when I become pompous I assume and expect you'll be certain to let me know!!
By the way . . . accidently doing the right thing happens to all of us on occasion. Were I you, I would refer to it as an "Instinctive" composition . . . which sounds better than accidental and, frankly, is likely to be more along the lines of the truth! :)

Thank You for the really well discribed critique Doyle. Honestly I wanted to kid you and tell you I had to look up half the words but I didn't and in critiqeing this way you did teach me what I'd actually done right ! I guess you know I accidently make the right moves sometimes ...ha! It's true I can say it. Thank you, Michele~

Very nice Michele . . . you did very nice with this one. The lovely and well exposed openness on the lake surface and the turgid line as it breaks onto the damp shoreline . . . Lightness gives way to darkness and shadow . . . with parallel oblique diagonals to delineate layers . . . one being a branch which breaks through the different layers . . . and, overall, a soothing - even tranquil image. I can almost hear the water.
