About This image (7502) was shot at the Madame K's storefront in old Ballard on 13 August 2006.

This third image shows the pink ("Madame K's" sign) escaping from the nets (rope lights). The red (sign showing two red lips) may not have been so lucky.

Also from this series:

This image has been shrunk and resized for upload. I also ran auto-levels and added a thin border. No other PS work was done.

I look forward to your questions and comments.

Vanessa - Thank you. I do what I'm able. The real secret is merely that practice perfects.

Albert - Thank you. This luxagraphic work has been my main interest lately. I'd like to think it's going to continue to improve.

Sheldon - Thanks.

I coined the term to talk about the kinds of images I shoot which involve camera motion (and occassionally also subject motion).

I have a small explanation of the techniques on my portfolio Luxagraphia main page (linked above).

So far, it's all me. But, I encourage you to employ the term should you embark upon this kind of shooting spree.

Hi James,

Your portfolio is fascinating. Where did you get the name Luxagraphia?

Maurizio - Grazie mille. Il movimento č importante a queste immagini ed č difficile da catturare. Ma dopo che sia catturata la fantasia comincia.

Rocky - Thanks. I too like to see the lines cross and recross. I agree about the digital feel of these particular luxagraphic images.

The light capture other light, seems is ended in the net,or succeeds to escape, depends from how it is looked at,in these shot there is all a world to discover with the own fantasy... compliments

I understand lips and sign of Madame K's. Fortunately, I found picture on the web :)
But rope lights are absolutely stunning!

You really have perfected this art of photographic abstract, James! I love the thin lines and especially on the right where they cross over each other. It almost has a computer-generated-graphic feel about it with those lines. Another great shot!

Thanks, Roger. I overlooked this one when I first went through the series, but last night I spotted it and decided to end the set with it.

You are right, you are a poet,
when I was a child I thought what a tall wall we have in our home, but now, I think it's not that tall!
what makes me so different?! becoming taller? I don't think so!
I think the world become shorter, I'm still a child!
the long lasting light in this shot makes me think about all this,
Really nice shot James,
keep this nice shots coming,
Mohammad

Fascinating abstract. The curving lines are a good lead across the image. Colors are good.
