as you can see..some do and some don't... it's not a blurr in the usual sense, but done with the 'art history brush' in PS....this tool .. I thought it was cool...glad you liked it and thanks for looking, as usual...cheers

Excellent capture of the little baseball player, Joe! I like the idea of the effect you've done to separate him from the background. Dave.

Hey Joe: A Norman Rockwell image of Americana here! The image is good but the post processing is simply too distracting. The Artistic blur is not only unnatural, but it doesn't make a connect to the subject here and the gap is way too distracting. My advice would be to zoom in VERY close to get as close as possible and feather the selection to a 3 or 4 at least so the line is lost. Also use a Gaussian Blur. Gotta' go with the D50 on Aperture mode in the future . . . it works wonders and saves a LOT of time.

a little rain once in a while is 'cool' been in the 90's+ like forever... anyway been playing with this foto for like a couple of years...I used the 'art-history' brush which I thought was more interesting than just a blur...but I agree something just not right... and hey I do have my Nikon D50...but not when I took this shot...ha hope all is well with you and your summers going great...cheers

Hmmm.....don't mean to rain on your parade, Joe, but the blur doesn't do it for me. It either needs to be applied EXACTLY behind him, or feathered in so it isn't so apparent where it ends. Makes it look too processed. It is a great shot- Much could be done with it. If you would just go buy an SLR and shoot in Aperture mode, you wouldn't have to blur it in ps!! ;)
