About Taken in the cathedral of the old city of Begamo, no photograping alowed, but I was thingking they did a great ceiling-job which I want to share with my friends on UF, so sneaky took a shot with Iso speed on 3200 and no flash, the sound of the shutter sounded to me like a gunshot in this silent church.
I think it worked out wonderfully, hope you like it too.

Yes John indeed great architecture, they sure know how to build in those days. What do you think, so much detail in such high iso3200 shot. I didn´t expect the outcome of so much detail, did expect more noise in this one.
Thanks for your comment,

Klaas

Thanks Carlen, I'm very honoured by your flattering comment on this one. I don't think anyone should touch "my camera", and no one there even looked when the shutter did his job, so I took another 3 or 4, and again no one looked. And I'm in Holland again, and still no secret agents who tracked me. LOL.
I'll add you to my friends, so I cannot forget to look at your portfolio now and then.
Take care,

Klaas

This photo is simply breathtaking. I liked reading your comments about taking it despite no photos being allowed. What would they do if you got caught? Take away your camera and deleted the images? I had the same urge when I was in the Telfair Museum but I was paranoid there were hidden cameras.

Thanks Hugo for your kind comment, and yes I'm very often pleasantly surprised by the result of this camera in conditions were it is neccesary to use up to ISO 3200, however I made some pics in the York Minster without the flash and using 3200, some were amazingly good, and some were less good, that means, with a bit noise, so you're spoiled very quickly.
Take care, cheers,

Klaas

Hi Klaas,

Very good composition, and I'm amazed by the lack of noise at 3200 ISO! Very cool photo, and a beautiful piece of architecture!

Cheers,

Hugo

Two lovely pics of the cathedral dome.. personally, I like this one better, maybe because of the angle of the shot. Well done, dear Klaas !!

all the very best,

Thanks Rashed, I know you like the details very much, and in this one the detail (you shouldn't expect so much detail in a 3200 ISO photo), is surprisingly beautiful. You flattered me with your so kind comment. I'm glad you liked this one.
Take care, all of the best to you too my friend,

Thanks Doyle, I'm very glsd you like this one so much. Yes, the detail is very good for so high ISO, last december I shot a lot pictures in Great Brittain, in the York Minster, some with a lot of noise and others with amazing detail. Why????? I don't know. I will post another one from this cathedral soon.
Take care,

Klaas

Klaas: WoW! You daredevil you!! LoL!
This is a nice addition to the project Klaas and thanks for taking all the chances so we could see it! I absolutely love the white-green accents in the ceiling. The detail is amazing too! The 3200 ISO didn't seem to sink you in a morass of noise either . . . which is a bit suprising. I'm thinking you didn't use noise reduction software because the detail is exquisite and that's what usually gets hurt first when you're reducing the noise.
This is one very impressive ceiling. And a very good capture. Congratulations!

Doyle I <~~~~~

Thanks Mary, and good to let me hear your point of view by saying God wouldn't mind. That makes me feel better and less guilty, but what am I saying now..... I didn't feel guilty at all. They make pictures themselves and you can buy them.
I'm happy you like it.
Take care, have a nice weekend,

Hello Gayle, good to hear from you again, everything alright at the other side of the ocean? I was lucky, I didn't have a problem, in fact nobody from the few people inside even looked when the shutter was going. It's strange, you shut of your flash, use high Isospeed and don't think about the shutter making noise. In the room next to this one there was a constantly guarding of a guard who was checking everybody. Thanks for your comment and happy you like this one, indeed incredible how they did such amazing work so long ago.
Take care,

Klaas

Hee hee! I've gotten in trouble for doing that too, and I know what you mean about the shutter being soooo loud! That's our guilty consciences speaking... ;)

I'm glad you risked everything to show us this one. Incredible detail, and the colors are so uhhh, colorful? lol My compliments to you, and even more compliments to the artist!
Gayle :)
