The light on the kid and on the small beach is fantastic. How happy I could be Gaute if I could cross out the sun reflection behind the head of the Jeppe (my namesake)! It's only a personal wish, of course.

Very nice colour. Surely a lot of reflection going on to light your boys face. It is doing my head in trying to work out what the moon does in your mid winter days.

Thank you for those kind words.....
The sun is at its lowest at this point and is starting once again to rise. At this particular spot it disappeared behind the mountainous terrain on the island to the right for a few hours before it once again appeared.

Professional approach. Great fill flash shot and timing.
I think you pay for the light with the winters though.

Hi Gaute, I certainly agree that the light there must be magic as I have to wait for a long time to get light like that in my part of the world. What is it like later on - say 0100 hrs? Re the image itself - I love the nice pastel colours and the serene feel of it. You have positioned and captured the sun reflection very well on the water and the boy`s head and also the glow on the foreground rocks add to the whole scene. Overall, in my humble opinion, a very nice capture. Ian
