Thanks for the comment Dave... this was taken at Alnwick annual Fair... on the last day there is a procession that goes around the town full of folk dressed up, morris dancers a brass band & last year we even had the grim reaper!!!!!

The fair has been going for a number of years now... though sorry to say it's loosing it's appeal... Maybe next year though we will see an improvement again! You never know.. they may even dunk me on the witches stool just for saying that!!! Yikes!!!

Bless.. & all this time I thought that gingling you made when you walked was loose change in your pocket!!! he he he.

Used to do a bit of this myself in dancing class... though the female version with the battons & bells.. but must admit was the maypole that was my fav.. see.. pagan roots even from a young age.

Right.. now I'm off to shake my bells & scare a ghost or two away! lol x

Hi Quix...That brings back a memory or 2.I used to do abit of that "Morris" mularky when I was younger...only to work up a thirst though!!!
I was with a school group run by the Fiddler with the Monkseaton Morrismen...I believe your pic could he the "Hexamshire Morrismen"...I'm sure no one will correct me if I'm wrong...lol...BJH
