I can only echo the comments already made...Quite a wonderful image. The soft focus does indeed lend a very appealing dreamy quality....Congratulations on a most memorable photograph....

nice image.. a bit soft on the focus but it helps add some mood to the composition. The window is a bit washed out but it does not seem to impact the photo a lot. Congrats on the POD

Thanks for your comments on all my photos Cathy. I'm a ballet teacher so know when to take action photos. This was taken at a course run by the Aus. Ballet School, mainly for teachers. The lad was getting pretty bored waiting for his turn to dance, so I was able to sneak up on him & snap. Fortunately, his mother is a teacher too, so I was able to get permission from both of them to use it, right there on the spot. (I sent his Mum a copy, & she's framed it & has it on display) Cheers, Suzanne

I just checked out your other images and read Phil M comments, so you do take the odd photo now and then! This one is superb. Window light is my absolute favourite. What I love about this image is how sensitively you have captured the subject matter. I don't imagine boys are abundant in this field and you have found a patient one! I wonder where his mind had wandered to. Cathy

Oh, Phillip, Suzanne is a wonderful photographer, and an extremely talented person!!!
Suzanne and I have belonged to an all Australian photography web-site for some time, now. In that time, I have marvelled at her beautiful work, which has won her many awards and prizes. We have been chatting via e-mail for a month or two and, today, I encouraged her to join this great site!
I was blown away when, within minutes of her uploading this image, she was awarded a POD. I e-mailed her to tell her what an honour that award is. Since then, we have spoken by phone for over an hour and I have explained to her all about this site and how it works. Suzanne is looking forward to posting her work on this site and, I can assure you, she has many wonderful images, yet to come!!!
I feel very certain this award will be one of many!
Cheers
Phil

Phillip, thanks for inviting Suzanne to Usefilm. I can see she is off to a great start and if this keeps up we are going to really have to work hard to keep up with her.
This picture struck a chord in me. It is just so perfect. I am now going to build a window set prop just like this for my studio, it is just so perfect to capture the innocence of youth. Not to mention there is a dance studio not to far from here that would probably flip over photos like this.
