About I just thought this guy was cool, not sure how he ended up with a piece of grass hanging out of his mouth, but I thought it made him look like an old-style rebel with a toothpick.

Thank you for your comment Dave.

Maybe not a cartoon character, but it was funny to watch him making the rounds kicking all the other vultures, like a winged Bruce Lee.

All the best,
Ed

Great capture of him, Edward! He looks like some cartoon character with the grass in his beak, but that image sure isn't conveyed in the second shot!
Well done!
Dave.

With as much setting up as we do for some shots, I still find some of the best pictures just happen.

Thanks for the comment Paul.

All the best,
Ed

That's not a pretty face but it is captured beautifully. I like that your work shows their environment, simply without distraction. Cathy

Looks like she's wearing a feather boa and a trendy pink headband.. A Boa and a Toothpick and a Headband, where does she get her fashion sense?

Thank you for the comment Jinggoy.

Well with the D70s 1.5 multiplication factor the lens is almost as good as a 450mm, but you are right, I was probably only 20-30 feet away. We were parked quite close to the zebra carcass, so the vultures were flying and landing very close to the truck.

All the best,
Ed

hi ed,
i can't say he's a good looking fella, but good portrait shot you have here. so you must not be very far from him considering you shot with a 300mm?

After this shot was taken, he proceeded to make rounds of the zebra carcass kicking any other species of vultures that got too close as seen below.

All the best,
Ed
