I like this picture. The colors are natural enstead of the normally over saturated photo's I see so often. I feel like I am in the scene. The compostition is great. There is so much to see and admire in this capture. An eccellen photo!!! Kelly

I'll say, that's one wide open door! Those poor cows. I hope that none of them are anywhere near that thing when it goes down for the count.
How are you liking the new camera?

I love the pastel colours in this beautiful meadow scene my dear Kathy. There is a lovely soft and gentle 'feel' to your composition that doesn't transmit in the mono toned version. How sad to see the state of this onetime working barn but in spite of it's demise the overall scene is one of a peaceful atmospherical nature. Well done to you sweetie and thank-you for sharing the alternative. I have started to post two versions as everyone varies in their tastes. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray

Beautiful pastoral!!! Colours and composition bring a peaceful sense of being. We'd have to go to the northern island of Hokkaido to get something resembling your shot. That is called the "Japanese Canada". Thanks, dear Kathy, for all your faithful visits at my page! I do appreciate your kindness and attention! YT

This structure is surely about to fall anytime, don't wait for a windstorm.. A bump from one of these cows to one of the post and it will go.. I like the background, i see mountains behind, I think I would want to see more from the above than the foreground IMHO. This way you put more emphasis on that shell (barn) and the atmosphere it is in... : ) just a thought Kathy. wonderful capture and good composition..

A wonderful rural image, Kathy!
The barn - I agree with you, I wouldn't want to be there in a storm either! Come to think of it - I wouldn't want to be under it at all!!
Well spotted and captured!
Cheers

Nice shot Kathy! The attitude of the cows is typical. They just don't care about anything :) The relaxed cows make a nice contrast to the tension created by the almost fallen barn. Andre

Very well composed landscape photo. Colors, light and details are all very good. I prefer the color version, because the yellow blooms and the red of the cattle add so much interest.

Another nice backroads capture Kathy. Those cows had better be cautious of using the barn poles as scracthing posts. I agree that this is better in color.

Okay, I just looked at the b&w... Hands down, the colored version is the better of the two. The lush green and sprinkled flowers, not to mention the brown on the cows are much more appealing for this overall shot. Now if you got some close up angles of the barn, they might look great in B&W.

Yay, back with your barns!! Glad you captured this one while it was still there. Did you have the urge to run over there and get those cows out of the way?
You live in such a beautiful area, I just love checking your barns, landscapes, etc.
Best wishes. Dave
