Hi Scott,
An interesting image, lots of different textures, tones and shapes. As an abstract picture the colour tones and shapes work very well.
Some thoughts I had when viewing the image is that there does not appear to be any kind of balance or focal point. This leaves me looking around the picture for something to focus on. I find it hard to view the entire image as one picture. A suggestion might be to use the left hand side of the picture (with the nails) as the picture or re-frame it so that it is the only thing in the frame. This goes the same for the right half of the picture.
Now again these kind of pictures are subjective and these are only some of my thoughts. There seems to be lots of interesting things to look I am just not sure the work together.
