Using a mirror as a 'window through the wall'? I think these work, as well, with a diffuse flash to brighten the texture around the frame. It's sort of underexposed and sparse as is, sort of like a photo in the process of being built up, but not yet completed. To tie the vine with the frame motif and the reflection, perhaps a little straighter on would have emphasized the reflection, if one could get that and the desired reflection.
