Thanks Eb, I appreciate the time you spent looking this over and both posts. Without the polarizer it was almost blinding reflections from above. I think it was the time of day and position of the sun that was the determining factor with the results as seen.

Nicely done crop, Bill. The colour and contrast is very pleasant. I personally don't mind the reflections, but one could experiment with a polarizer to tone them down and increase the saturation.
