H.C. Andersen will be much more present in the next days, but I am already very glad to know that the photo caused such connections in your thoughts. I really didn't think about those beautiful tales, but now that you say that, I realize that the suggestion is very very nice.
About ice, indeed , each crystall is different to all the others. A very distinct (and so beautiful) property of solid water, that makes those sunny winter days really dreamy!
As about inviting the people here, well, it is also a very good for me, since then I can learn from you, and your wonderful tricks and techniques in photography! (So perhaps I'll manage to make some extraordinary photo too, ;-))
Anyway, dreams should have the time to mature, I suppose, but still, all doors are open wide for such wonderful people, as we say in Greek.
Best wishes and get out soon and shoot great ones!
Yes, it does look like a b&w. The absence of direct sunlight in winter around here can do many tricks, and one of these is that anything looks b&w. So strong contrasts can sometimes give unusual images.
Thank you very very much for the nice comment, Painsama, my friend!
Thanks a lot, Doyle! At that day just about all contour lines around were really frozen. It was really cold but ideal for photographing. (And so my fingers got also frozen ;-)) Some more of this kind follow this night.
A very appealing image that reminds me of "The snowqueen" by H.C. Andersen:-)Ice and snow are elements that are fascinating as they never look the same. No wonder that the inuit people have so many words for snow:-) Beautiful photo. Best wishes, Annemette PS: Itīs very kind of you to invite usefilmmemembers to visit you in your beautiful country. Thank you so much.
