About Late one night a friend visited. This shot was taken spur of the moment, to capture the essence in his personality so i could keep that moment forever... Normally a guy to take a step back here he is leaning forward. I'm not sure on the way his body leans in but maybe that's part of the reason why i like it. he keeps his eyes away from me to hide what he feels but in the lighting, the soft focus and the atmosphere I can see it anyway. He's almost smiling but not quite and it's that caption I adore how we try to figure someone out yet we are unable to do so.
Maybe it's personal or maybe it's how everyday we see people like this person, scared of something, unable of confrontation but living the day as though we own it. Sound bizarre? it's my perception of the afraid. They live confident but in truth they are the weak. It was taken on my67 formatted camera using black and white Polaroid and help for an exposure of 2 minutes all in natural lighting.
- So guys let me know what you think?

You know Dave, I love your opinions. yeah the exposure, I just guessed. I know it was long as I was trying to keep the camera steady. You know yourself How heavy the Mamiya can be.
I agree with the framing I'm not so sure about it now...I like the frail and unkeptness about it but cant help but fault my work.Anyway the polaroid was sticky. I'd love to reshoot but keep the atmosphere. Maybe change direction of the pose. He has big eyes so I annoy myself not focusing on that more. But you know me im trouble. And yeah, maybe he was uncomfortable? I'm scary afterall. ha. x

We see a dark moody picture of a young man looking away from the camera, possibly slighty uncomfortable with being photographed? The framing is incomplete suggesting we are not getting all the info here. Maybe it reflects that early hours dream time, awake but not fully, and that a new reality is breaking onto that space. Interesting you got that amoount of detail over a 2 min period. Atmospheric L&L daveb xx

Hey Jon thanks for the comment, the framing is actually just due to the poaroid sticking a little during development. but i happen to like the ragged look. gives it the almost painted kind of feel to it. But thanks for your comment. Much appreciated. x x x

Loved your "about" - I prefer the long explanations. This was an interesting shot. I am not completely thrilled with the framing, but it does seem to follow the direction in which he is looking, so perhaps. Excellent title.... Something about this (image/title/explanation) speaks to me in a personal kind of way.... very nicely done.
