hi, i think that the simplicity and the bold contrast level work so well,Chuck...the rusty hues pop!...i could see this as one in a series of "back in the day" items for an exhibition
here is one i shot that you may like:

Chuck, I think that getting deeply involved in photography, just like in any other thing, gives us so much experience and makes our eyes so good for observing, that at the end the experienced photographer just shoots the excellent photo without thinking. It is almost a reflex! To make an example, I saw Van Halen in a concert, and waht can I tell you, that boy played the most terrific tunes without even noticing. This kind of instinct that comes out of long time of trying and doing, I think you have it in an extremely high degree!
If I may ask, did you ever think to make an exhibition with your works?

Chuck, this is a very interesting image in two different ways. But the two different ways, they meet in the end.
The rusty gasoline pump - I don't know why, but it brings into mind some forgotten place out there. (Perhaps the photos of the old house "help" my mind to think this way.) The shadow of the hand: It seems very active - in opposition to the pump. So, is it somebody from a vibrating city?
The man from the city came at this forgotten place - action meets rest. And here is where the two worlds meet each other. What is going to happen? Will it be action or will it be rest?
You don't answer the question and this is very good, since it keeps mind in work. Thinking about the possible outcomes by looking at this picture.
Technically this picture demonstrates very well the old good priciple: Less is more! We have only a rusting metal surface and a shadow of a a hand. But brilliantly put in scene in order to cause something in head. And so we see that photography is not only some kind of technical perfection but much more than this. Art!
COngratulations and keep it up!
