One really has to be grateful that these wonderful remnants of earlier times are not completely disappeared and now standing in gardens instead of garden gnomes. Although I would prefer these ones to gnomes;)

Savez-vous que vous êtes un littéraire? lorsque vous me «sortez» un mot de votre vocabulaire fourni, vous me forcez à vérifier le sens dans le dictionnaire; aujourd'hui c'est «novel», hier c'était «romantic» et avant-hier c'était autre chose dont je ne connaissais qu'un sens, le plus commun. It's a wonderful novel image with an intriguing background. At first, because of its shape, I thought it was small--like a mushroom. But now I believe it to be about the size of a three-legged stool. Nice work . . .
