About
When exploring in Monument Valley, I came upon this vista which by taking the shot can much better describe the vastness of this beautiful desert area an d consequently, the insignificance of man.
1. Sky is not so impressive. 2. "Anchor point" is not big enought - this makes composition of this image too "flat". 3. Title of the shot do not correspond perfectly with the picture. Of course, these are for CC only:)
Excellent shot, it really shows the vastness of the area, as well as the feeling you mention: "the insignificance of man" as closely as any photo could. I do believe that this feeling can only be experienced to the fullest when actually being there. Nevertheless, it's a great shot.
One of the strengths of this photo is the presence of the ridge in the lower left corner, it accentuates the scenery, as if creating a prelude for the emptiness. It also creates a solid base / anchor point. A very strong touch.
In the postprocessing, I think a bit more contrast and saturation could really do this photo justice, but this is also a personal preference. Very well captured.
