Hi Shane, Checked out the link, and there are some pretty impressive shots there. Both links, as a matter of fact. Great stuff! Next time, I'll have to go a bit more extreme than I've gone before. Got a few samples way back in my portfolio...
Cheers,
Hugo

This is exactly the kind of experimentation DSLR's were built for. Shots like this, although possible with film, would be expensive. Here, the pocketbook doesn't impede the creativity, nice crack.

Glad I got your mind ticking over Hugo .. I could sum up what I do by saying all I am doing is filling up the frame with light, who cares what it looks like as long as it is relatively colourful and pleasing to the eye!
The above link needs registration but it only takes a few seconds and you wont be spammed. If you like the above image then there are more examples of the same taken on the night.

Hi Shane, Thanks for the reply. The link you've sent me requires a login and password....
I appreciate the technical data, too. The fill flash - motion shots I've taken so far all had a much shorter shutter-speed (1/8 to 2 seconds) at a much higher flash intensity... I think that makes the difference, as with the settings I've used, the surroundings play a more important role in the photo (disregarding the fact that in such short interval I would never have the chance to tilt the camera).
You really managed to get my mind rocketing off. I have to think of that extensive shutter-speed....:) Thanks for the inspiration!
Cheers,
hugo

thanks very much Hugo - you are the best critquer on this site! .. The fill flash was set at -3 stops and I also difused it! It was pretty much a minimal "tip" of light to freeze the subject. You can see more of these images at ..

WOW. The epiphany of dynamism, motion and tension/trance. For advertisement/promotional purposes,, I really believe this is grand! Reading your about, I think the camera handling and technical merit comes scarily close to a perfect photo. Very, VERY impressive, and I'm not being nice here. I've had my fair share of practice with fill flashes and long exposures, but I've never matched this!
Top Notch shot, Shane!
Cheers,
Hugo
