OH! i love it when people do this with flowers. Strong unidirectional side lighting, or back lighting that sets the flower 'on fire'.I recently took a bunch of pictures of gerber daisies using the same technique. Anyways, Good use of rule of 1/3's, placing interesting points at 1/3 across. DOF is very suitable to the picture. My only complaint is the leaf sticking out of the bottom right corner. It would be dead easy to clone out! It would be a one click fix, and it would remove the only distracting element in the frame. Keep up the good work, ~Tim

This is so very beautiful. The details and textures of the bloom are wonderful. Your use of the lighting to illuminate the flower and make it glow against the darker background is terrific. I am glad you left in the little leaf at the bottom. I think it adds to your compositin. MAry
